Dick's Review | The show is very nice although I have a hunch that 9/27/72 was more exciting. The first set takes awhile to get going but after a fine version of Black Throated Wind, everything is pretty tight. Greatest Story Ever Told is very hot with unusual or perhaps totally unheard of riffs from Saint Stephen. The highlight of the show is clearly the 1st jam in the 2nd set. One of the special treats is a Lesh solo (with Billy) before firing into The Other One which is very involving with lots of unique “spaces.” Just before falling into Me And Bobby McGee they get into another of their fabulous Brain-Frying sessions which for me is the best part of the whole show! |
