Dick's Review | Playin' In The Band is almost shocking in its attack and wealth of interweavings. It is one of the best. Bertha sure seems to have some sock-em behind it, in a way that modern versions lack. Greatest Story Ever Told has it all. It is amazing just how exciting this tune used to be performed. This time it will raise the hair on your arms! Dark Star is very spacey or non-melodic and it leads into a very nice Brain-Fry that eventually has a fairly nice jam section that meanders into Truckin' which is dull as if everyone were catching their breath. Morning Dew is also pretty uneventful. |
