Dick's Review | This show is actually quite unique, rare, and entertaining. The quality is excellent (even the editing is flawless!) and each cut had a lot of energy and drive behind it. Garcia is especially noticeable on every song. Seems like the perfect balance between their styles of 1972 and 1974, i.e. it has raw energy but it is clear that “Professionalism” (economy of sound) has taken its roots. The 2 jams from the 2nd set stand out mostly because of the rarity of having horns to contend with! The Weather Report Suite jam is definitely the better one. Garcia really gets into Sugar Magnolia, with horns and all! |
