Dick's Review | Again the show is high energy and fast paced with almost every rocker that I can think of in the Dead’s repertoire except Johnny B. Goode! The show really doesn’t take off until the beginning of the 2nd set, with an incredible medley ending with a rousing version of the Greatest Story Ever Told. Has possibly the best rendition of Truckin' until 9/3/77 and thereafter! One other unique thing is the jam material following Truckin': It is very fast paced and chock full of spontaneous inspiration in a way that I haven’t heard elsewhere. Really fantastic with Garcia and Weir dueling as you’ve never heard before! |
