Dick's Review | This is an excellent show that only 500 record executives got to see. This recording comes off of the stage monitors and has more hiss than the FM or board copies but it has more brilliance and clarity on the high end. Eyes Of The World is quite aggressive and full of energy, although I’m sure the excellence of this recording makes everything sound pretty exceptional. The remainder of this jam is very unique and fulfilling, if only because this is the only opportunity to hear it in such a refined and polished state. Even Around And Around sounds great in it’s controlled way. Crazy Fingers is an exceptional treat that enters nicely into an instrumental version of the The Other One. Then we get another rare treat not available on any other live show: Sage And Spirit which is a nice English sounding display of tasteful guitar playing. Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad has some excitement to it. The other nice thing about this recording is that one can clearly hear the crickets (they had hundreds of live crickets brought to the show) most prominently on Blues For Allah |
