Dick's Review | This is a very fine show, just barely coming up short for a Lightning Skull Award! All tunes are done well but nothing is really fantastic until we get to the 2nd set closing jam. Dancin' In The Streets is very fine with a nice drawn-out (almost qualifying as a jam). Transition leading to the percussion jam which isn’t very special. Not Fade Away is clearly the high point of the show where they play it longer than usual and has lots of treats. It has that raunchy and deliberate tempo characteristic of the 1/1/79 version which has become such a potent memory for me. Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad is actually a major part of the highpoint of this show. Along with Not Fade Away. Sugar Magnolia is bursting with energy and a fitting climax to an excellent show | |

Dick's 2nd Review | The Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad segment has to be one of the all-time most intense and thrilling attempts at this fairly common medley. Also to put the final touches on this shows intensity we get an exciting U.S. Blues to end this great show. I’ve changed my mind and now give it a deserving Lightning-Skull Award! |
