Dick's ReviewThis is Bob Wagner’s favorite show from these nine shows. The show bounces along very efficiently. There is some nice keyboard stuff on Big River. Stagger Lee is one of the best and most unusual versions that I know of. Looks Like Rain is sung exceptionally well as Bob also felt. Row Jimmy is performed in a very unique style which almost turns into a bouncy rocker at the end. All things considered this 1st set is almost as good as 5-4-79! Things start off with a rousing Terrapin Station. There is some extra special playing during the whole 2nd half of Playin' In The Band and just might be one of the biggest highlights of this show. The percussion jam is pretty entertaining. Black Peter is better than usual but not as intense as 5-9-78 Syracuse. But Not Fade Away is fantastic, done very punchy and succinctly but it still qualifies as the highlight of the night. The transition back to Playin' In The Band is very smooth.
