Dick's ReviewI find it difficult to believe I haven’t attempted organizing these 3 Nassau Coliseum shows which is where the most intense interest exists. The quality on this tape is much better than Barry’s copies of 11/1 and 2/79 which don’t have nearly as much presence and clarity. China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider is an excellent opening and it bristles with energy although it doesn’t come close to the excitement generated by the great versions. The remainder of the 1st set is very good but nothing really exceptional. I think China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider was the most exciting of the 1st set. The 2nd set opens with one of the best versions of Shakedown Street I can remember hearing. Also it might be the longest version: almost 18-minutes. Estimated Prophet is quite nice but not nearly up to the bests of versions. Eyes Of The World on the other hand is very aggressive and exciting in it’s beginning stages just before the vocals and things continue at a bristling pace all the way through. The 2nd jam section is very intense although only 5 minutes and must be considered along with Shakedown Street and Eyes Of The World as the highlights of this excellent show. The percussion jam starts off pretty spooky almost like a space jam with Hart playing some instrument that carries sustained tones. The remainder is entertaining but nothing special. The 3rd jam section is kind of meandering without specific direction. Wharf Rat is superb and another major highlight. Truckin' is possibly the greatest version ever.
