Dick's Review | They start off in a rousing manner especially Promised Land. Loser is also especially satisfying and the middle of this set continues in the above average style of the beginning with Minglewood Blues standing out handsomely. Althea is also one of the better versions. Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance is also unusually intense and caps off a surprisingly very fine 1st set. The 2nd set opens with a scorching version of this famous medley and is clearly the highlight of the show up till now. Could it just simply be that I took acid and everything sounds great?? Estimated Prophet is great. One of the most intense versions I’ve heard in awhile. Eyes Of The World is also very exciting and the jam section before the percussion jam is a fine excursion into the unusual. Even the percussion jam is very thrilling as it starts off with a roar and continues for a brief period. Black Peter doesn’t have my favorite exciting ending to it but throughout it feels very strong. I’m really amazed I didn’t hear how fine a show this is on the first few hearings. Sugar Magnolia is simply astounding. |
