Dick's Review | Not many friends mentioned this show as one to get but I find it to be equal if not better than the 6/12 - 14/80 shows. There isn’t anything particularly noticeable in the first half of the 1st set but each tune has some degree of identifiable energy. I didn't notice much else of any interest for the remainder of the 1st set. The 2nd set opens with a rousing version of China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider after this we get three usually typical songs that sound pretty much the same every time. There are some exceptions of course. The best playing of the night so far occurs during the 1st jam section which is short 3-5 min. But very tasty. The percussion jam is very aggressive and entertaining and isone of the major highlights of the show which hasn’t impressed me as much as I had thought. As soon as I sait, I have to retract: The 2nd jam section is great and makes this show exceptional, almost by itself alone. There is about 10 min or so of exciting improvisational jamming. Truckin' is also very exciting. The finish is especially rousing: very good 2nd set. |
