Dick's Review | One of Bob's best jobs ever. He says his recording is noticeably better than the board that has been circulating around. Sugaree is very hot and aggressive and if things continue like this, I will definitely have to change my previous impression of this show. Minglewood Blues is also pretty exciting but things don’t improve or even keep up with the opener. Loser is a bit more noticeable than usual and Lazy Lightning > Supplication is pretty (scratched out: Intense) average. | |

Dick's 2nd Review | Loser is missing all the guts of the song. The 1st set is pretty uneventful except for the opener. Nothing in the 2nd set until a very tantalizing Playin' In The Band which eases into a jam section that is definitely the best playing in the show so far. A fine mind-scramble that comes from a fairly disjointed space. The percussion jam is OK but out of the 2nd jam section is another special treat that could be called a mini Brain-Fry at the minimum and is one of the few highlights of this show. Truckin' is pretty good but not up to the better ones. Stella Blue and Sugar Magnolia are just average and I begin to wonder what the excitement about this show is all about. |
