Dick's ReviewThe 1st set is quite uneventful until an excellent and thrilling version of The Music Never Stopped which is the only real intense moment(s) of the 1st set. Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain is pretty average. Estimated Prophet is excellent and is the best playing of the show so far. Eyes Of The World is good but not one of the best versions. The percussion jam is fast and aggressive and one of the more exciting aspects of this show. Nothing (actually it is a very eerie and spacey piece) happening in the 1st jam section. Uncle John’s Band is somewhat of a surprise these days and is pretty good but not nearly as thrilling as the 12/79 Oakland versions. Truckin' isn’t very noticeable but the 2nd jam section is another highlight of a pretty good show: Here we get a fairly raw and disconnected version of the Spanish Jam which comes into full glory the next night at Nassau! There are other feelings dealt with here but it mostly sounds like they were just realizing the emergence of this Spanish Jam. The transition into Alabama Getaway almost gets away but it is quite unique and interesting. The closing 2 tunes of this very nice jam are average.
