Dick's Review | I remember the show being somewhat of a let down since they used up The Other One and Morning Dew both of which were less than average. I sure wasn’t wrong about this show at least as far as the 1st set is concerned. It is one of the most uneventful 1st sets I’ve ever noticed. It sounds really slow and dull and even the song list sucks. I will keep this only as an example of how uninteresting the boys can sound. The 2nd set opens with some promise like they are going to try this time! Franklin’s Tower is easily the more exciting. This must be the period where Weir changed the lyrics in Truckin' to something about a sex change. Finally after Truckin' we get some inspiring and deliberate playing in the jam section. There is a tasty tease for The Other One before they pull back into a Percussion Jam not much until a nice section within The Other One that is sort of a tease. Actually this section is a jam section following The Other One usual completion that eases surprisingly into Morning Dew which is ok until the end which really makes all the previous effectiveness seem to dissipate quickly. The remainder of this poorest of all Greek shows so far is a joke. Lets get out of here quick!!)) |
