Dick's Review | Things start off like gangbusters with a fast tempo of Bertha but they get kind of lost during Greatest Story Ever Told. Things remain on a good level but without anything standing out much until the closing medley: Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance is a fine finish to a good 1st set at best. China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider is an excellent rousing start to a great 2nd set and is easily the most exciting playing so far. The jam section following a good Eyes Of The World is unique and entertaining. The playing after the percussion jam sounds a bit ominous and on the edge of discovery and has a nice rhythmic marching style segment just before a pretty hot The Other One. Stella Blue is also pretty exceptional before stopping (too soon as usual) and basically ending the jam with the standard ending rave ups. |
