Dick's Review | Finally get the best copy of this show that there is and it is a noticeable improvement over mine. As one can see when I have to splice in the end of the show with my old copy which came from Menke. Suzanna went to this one and was quite enthusiastic but I have to get another hearing under my belt before I’ll feel sure of my viewpoints. Estimated Prophet is excellent and it seems longer than usual with almost a jam section at the end before dropping into a commemorative for Anwar Sadat who was assassinated on this date. Actually the Blues For Allah Jam hints during the jam following the drums were directed in his memory. There is some interesting if somewhat solemn music in the jam section after He’s Gone. The percussion jam is quite entertaining with more communication and intensity. The highlight of the show has to be the extended jamming following the percussion jam. It isn’t aggressively intense but wandering intense and very satisfying. Another fine thrill is the closing rush from Stella Blue. |
