Dick's Review | As I remember this show, it is one of the better ones. I might favor 12/27/81 only because it was the 1st time that the second show (of five) was exciting. The 1st set seems pretty average which is somewhat surprising since I thought the whole show was exceptional in terms of being there. Let It Grow is easily the highlight of the 1st set. Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain is the most exciting playing so far. Estimated Prophet is tantalizing and continues to give the show a lot of promise and expectation. The jam section following the percussion jam is the most thrilling and inspiring segment of the show. Truckin' has considerable intensity behind it but isn’t one of the better attempts. It doesn’t raise the ante but keeps things on a stable level of excitement. Black Peter has a section at the end that is quite interesting and unusual but doesn’t even come close to a similarly inusual ending that occurs on 12-03-81- Madison, Wisc |
