Dick's Review | It’s too bad that That’s It For The Other One is cut, since this was the only night they played it. The Dark Star jam is also quite short and too the point! El Paso is performed at a much slower tempo which adds a lot to its attractiveness. The 8/5/70 San Diego version is still the most interesting) Another nice tune, that is only played once in this series is The Rub (Aint It Crazy). It sure is refreshing to hear Cumberland Blues which they dropped sometime in 1974 (10/18/74) Ripple is another rarity but after the 15 Warfield shows (10-80) I don’t feel so interested. This is probably the last time they ever did I'm A King Bee. That’s It For The Other One is another great and it is done very well before being cut. Dark Star is quite tantalizing and they get into some exceptional aggressive up-tempo jamming near the end, that doesn’t sound characteristic of Dark Star. Saint Stephen > Not Fade Away > Goin' Down The Road Feelin' Bad > Not Fade Away is excellent. Most representable example from this period. |
