Dick's Review | Most people favor this show quite highly as compared with others from this period. Nothing much is happening till we get to a special treat, Crazy Fingers which is drawn out more longer than usual and is very tantalizing! Also Garcia does nice work on The Music Never Stopped. The 2nd set opens with an unusual medley. There is some very exceptional playing during the end of Help On The Way and during Slipknot!. Franklin's Tower is also very well done. Eyes Of The World has a very nice flow to it and after a horrible break, Samson And Delilah keeps the feeling going with a bouncy version. The highlight though is the closing jam. Dancin' In The Streets starts things off with a fine version which soon drops into an average Wharf Rat but then things take off again with The Other One which actually isn’t all that interesting. Then there is a break and the remainder of the show is “audience” (the quality is pretty good in fact it may even be better overall than the board copy that i have. The best part of this closing jam is the jam section (small Brain-Fry!) before easing into Morning Dew which is one of the better versions and my 2nd highlight of this fine show, which deserves a Lightning Skull Award primarily because it is such an exceptional show for this beginning re-entry phase of the Touring Band. |
