| Dick's Review | I guess all 3 of these Winterland tapes came out a little less than perfect (examples of perfection: 2/28/77, 4/23/77, 4/25/77, 5/7/77, 5/8/77, 5/28/77, 6/4/77, 9/3/77, etc) But once the show gets going, one loses the ability to compare anymore and you find yourself thinking that the tape is quite fine! I find the highlight without question is the jam from the 2nd set. All songs within the jam are performed exceptionally well. I especially enjoy the way they blast out of Wharf Rat into Franklin’s Tower. The 1st set is adequate but nothing really stands out. |
