| Dick's Review | The 1st of 3 fantastic shows and 3 fantastic quality recordings by Jerry (Moore). These 3 November shows must rank as the highest series of 1977. I realize this challenges quite a few fine combinations ie 5-77, Palladium, 5/7, 5/8, 5/9, 6/7, 6/8, 6/9 but I am pretty sure it will stand the test of time. Perhaps the best Bertha > Good Lovin' series, I’ve yet heard. This show ust have destroyed everyone’s mind with the unique material (Dupree's Diamond Blues and Aiko Aiko (Iko Iko)) and great performance. One can easily tell that this was a special occasion by the way Lesh carries on at the beginning of the 2nd set. Another unique facet of this show was that the jam from the 2nd set had no jam material presented but rather went from song to song in a most exciting fashion by the way. There is a real fine transition between Playin' In The Band and Eyes Of The World | |
