Dick's Review | The last of 3 great shows. Some say (Bertando, Menke, and Troy) that the quality on this tape isn’t as good as 11/4 but I still find it to be of excellent quality. The show itself is another killer. The 1st set is totally decent but not as exceptional as on 11/4 & 11/5. But the 2nd set ranks up there with the best of them. Saint Stephen is played well but my favorite part is the Wharf Rat section, Fantastic! and the return of Saint Stephen and then a knockout Truckin' to close the show. The encore Johnny B. Goode also was special to me in that they play the tune as much less hectic and speeded up pace and it comes across as another big slow rocker that the Dead are famous for. |
