Dick's Review | It appears that I will be erasing the 1st set at least. Actually the sound is distinct and clearly definable but it sounds distant, not sharp and clear. Furthermore, it is recorded way too low and you mostly hear tape hiss during most of the show! The Music Never Stopped is easily the most exciting playing in this typically poor 1st set. The jam section following He’s Gone is very unique and a highpoint of this show. The Other One comes busting out of nowhere during a good drum solo and this attempt seems excellent. It is longer than 5 min and is very aggressive and exciting. Wharf Rat is also exceptional and Franklin's Tower is a nice treat to begin the finish to a surprisingly fine 2nd set. I should mention that this is one for the most thrilling versions ever of The Music Never Stopped |
