Dick's Review | The show is still worth keeping the 2nd set which isn’t as intense as the following night but still has a few nice moments ie Franklin’s Tower and Black Peter. Carol says it sounds noticeably out of tune, near the end especially. | |

Dick's 2nd Review | It is quite amazing to realize how unique and thrilling the band’s style was back 4 years ago. A lot of my close tape junkie friends, pretty much, dismiss this period but I think Dancin' In The Streets has some very commanding moments. I think I will have to relisten to this 1978-1979 period and try to see if there are a surplus of repetitious shows as many of my close associates feel ie Bertrando, Menke, McNally probably Lou Tombaws. I have to say something more about how thrilling Franklin's Tower is performed. Again i guess you just have to let this stuff “age” a little bit. Black Peter is one of the most intense ever (of course you can't count what they do with it nowadays at least once in a while like 12-3-81 Madison, Wisc. for example |
