Dick's ReviewThey start off with an unusual opener and it is very aggressive (hardly the more introspective style that gradually develops from this period on except for 5/21/74-Seattle of course!) but short: 8 minutes. Everything seems extraordinarily fast. (I’m sure there are few shows from around this time where the tempo is slower!) Maybe the tape is screwed up. The first set isn’t too bad actually in terms of performance compared to the other Europe shows. (But I had to try hard to give red stars!) Things pick up greatly with an unusually long Dark Star which I have labeled as part jam. Within the Dark Star about 20 min. into it there is a Drum Solo and then Phil joins the drummers for a short but exciting jam. Then everyone gets into it and sings the closer to Dark Star! What follows is really the highlight of the show. They get into a heavy head-scrambling space and soon come out of it with an up-tempo piece before calling a halt to the insanity with Sugar Magnolia which is as energetic and exciting as one could imagine. The 2nd major highlight follows this and it is fantastic, and not short, Who Do You Love on this otherhand is just one verse.
