Dick's ReviewTruckin' is nice with a long instrumental ending, not much noticeable until China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider which has a very appealing tempo which is slower and more controlled than usual and this adds to its interest. Hurts Me Too and You Win Again are both better than usual but the highlight of this pretty nice 1st set is an intense aggressive attack in Playin' In The Band another extra special treat is one of the all-time best versions of Casey Jones (not counting 12/2/71 Boston which is in a class all by itself!) Good Lovin' is actually in the 1st set which is one of the most unique and unusual aspects of this show and it is quite less involved or extended as in most other versions from this Europe tour. (Although what is here is direct and to the point and filled with energy) Sitting On Top Of The World is a rare treat although it is very short considering pre-1969 versions. Dark Star is very introspective and spacey. In this version with a nice “Brain-Fry” before dropping into Morning Dew which is pretty average. There seems to be some confusion at the end and Billy decides to continue things with a short drum solo before they close the jam with Sugar Magnolia. There are two encores! which is another rare part of this very good show. Only 4/15/72 and 5/3/72 and 5/11/72 are noticeably better.
