Dick's ReviewThe opening is hot and gives the feeling we are in for an intense night. Mama Tried opens explosively and this medley continues in an exciting and interesting fashion. Things seem more controlled and deliberate. Althea has to be the most exciting version until the 3/81 tour where I first noticed it being unique! Little Red Rooster is just starting but still sounds pretty good. Lazy Lightning > Supplication is great as is deal which is one of the last versions before they altered the tune. Everything sounds great in the 1st set and this show is on its way towards a lightning skull award! The 2nd set opens with a good version of Greatest Story Ever Told and then we get somewhat of a surprise: Uncle John's Band which is similar to the opener in intensity. Nothing shocking but still quite to the point. Lost Sailor is the best I’ve ever heard it done which is really a point in favor of this exceptional show so far at least. Truckin' has some exciting playing at the end that is unusual. The percussion jam is quite lively and interesting and this show needs only one major highlight from this point on to qualify for the big award. The 1st jam section is very intense and spooky (ominous) and is one of the highlights of this show. The Other One is excellent and to the point. I Need A Miracle is as good as I’ve heard it! Even though there isn’t a major highpoint (other than the jam section) this show is excellent enough for a lightning skull award.
