Dick's ReviewExcellent quality audience recording of possibly the best overall show from the whole year! Sugaree is a killer and even El Paso is noteworthy! Friend Of The Devil has some nice playing on it. China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider is intense as is typical of this show but not the best version from this period of time. Lost Sailor > Saint Of Circumstance is performed as usual. Sugaree still seems like the highlight of the 1st set. Don’t Ease Me In is as good as it gets! Even Althea seemed to have something unique to it. C.C. Rider is noticeably exciting. Estimated Prophet is a bit above average. Terrapin Station is as usual. Playin' In The Band is nothing special. The jam section seems to be developing but they cut it off before anything much happens but to my surprise they continue for quite awhile (5 - 10 min) before falling into the percussion jam. This isn’t that great but it is unique and adds to the music of this great show. Actually there isn’t any percussion jam. The 1st big surprise is a rare edition of Iko Iko which isn’t that exceptional other than its rarity. But then we get the 2nd big Shocker: Morning Dew which is a little bit more exciting than 8-20-80 Chicago. Sugar Magnolia is excellent.
