Dick's ReviewAlabama Getaway > Promised Land is a real rouser and gets things going in an exciting fashion but things slow down somewhat until a usually exciting Little Red Rooster > Althea is especially hot which is something of a big surprise. But the highlight is clearly the closing medley. Let it Grow is very exciting but then going into China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider makes this such a fine treat. This segment (thrilling!!) also seems to be especially unique in terms of the style they play! It sounds refreshingly anew and alive in a lot of parts. And further evidence of the special nature of this show comes in the rare entry of a noticeable exciting Ship of Fools! Estimated Prophet is also quite intense at one point but things slow down till they move into Eyes Of The World which is quite spirited and seems to have a more drawn out spacey section at the end which is great! The percussion jam is one of the fine parts of this show. In this case they keep a tantalizing and suspenseful rhythm going for the whole segment. The jam section following this pretty fine and might be one of the 2 or 3 major highlights of this very super show. The transition into Not Fade Away is very smooth and tasty. Not Fade Away is also exceptional especially for this period of decline with this tune. One of the best in awhile! This has to easily be the best show from the Europe tour.
