Dick's Review | Many claim that this was the best show overall from London. Things start slowly but the last 3 tunes of the 1st set are very exciting. The 2nd set is quite good at the start but things get very fine during the guts of Playin' In The Band which is very much on the attack rather than introspective. The 2nd half of the percussion jam is quite exciting and the following jam section does a nice job of setting up The Other One which is quite prompt but pretty exciting. Nothing unusual at all within the possibilities of this tune. Stella Blue is one of the highpoints of the show which isn’t as exciting as 3/21/81. The transition into Sugar Magnolia is rip-roaring and quite a thrill. The tune itself is quite fulfilling but not among the best. |
