Dick's Review | The show itself hasn’t been very noticeable as far as most of my tape friends are concerned! The 1st set is a real yawner until the closing medley which has some life to it. Bertha is becoming a rarity these days and this version is very nice. The 2nd set opens more excitingly than anything previous with a nice version of China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider! Playin' In The Band is always interesting and this is pretty fine with a very nice jam section tacked on at the end. Although both segments are pretty short. The percussion jam is great being about the most exciting thing so far in the show. Both drummers are very intense and aggressive without any let up. Then quite a surprise: Suddenly Garcia keys up Nobody’s Fault But Mine which is also with vocals! Very rare and tasty. Nothing much after this even Sugar Magnolia seems lifeless. |
