Dick's Review | This must be the most exciting or intense version ever of Cold Rain And Snow. Minglewood Blues is also noticeably intense. Great opening! After this things slow down considerably even though each tune is done convincingly and with some enthusiasm but nothing exceptional in any way. Only Promised Land seemed noticeable. The 2nd set opens with a meandering and unnoticeable percussion jam if you could call it that. They were probably just stalling till everyone in the band was ready! The jam section after an average Uncle John's Band is quite entertaining and easily the best playing so far, There is some nice playing during the brief transition into a decent The Other One. It is very nice to hear them return to sing the final parts of Uncle John's Band. This is a very exciting show except for the opening tune. Sugar Magnolia makes a valiant effort at saving the 2nd set but it is a little too late. |
