| Dick's Review | The performance is quite decent with the first set having several standouts including a PA problem through the set. The highlight of the show is the superb playing they do with the Dark Star section of the jam. (I should actually label it Dark Star > Jam > Dark Star!) Truckin' bounds along at a very active pace and full of energy. There is one more exceptional place and this is in the jam section preceding Comes A Time where they get into a nice space jam which has a very thrilling Screeching Feedback part. Comes A Time is also very nice. It would be nice to know what followed this to close the show. (Probably Sugar Magnolia?) This is an excellent show overall and is definitely in the running for the best show of 1972. I almost forgot to mention how pleasing it is to hear China Cat Sunflower > I Know You Rider performed in such a “controlled” and slower manner |
