Dick's Review | The performance is better than 10-18-78 but things don’t get on fire until the 2nd set other than a few nice versions. Franklin’s Tower is one of the hottest versions ever and it brought the house to a much higher level and set up what was clearly the highlight of the show: the closing jam with Not Fade Away being performed in extra special fashion. The highlight is the jam section before the percussion jam where the band gets into a very spaced (feedback) presentation. During Around And Around, Weir's guitar strap broke and the loud audience reactions are, to his and stage crews, attempts to fix the strap. He finally abandoned the guitar all together and grabbed the microphone and began prancing on the stage and dancing with Donna. |
